Washroom Recordings is an independent label founded by a few musician friends who wanted to release their home-recorded projects and those of similar minded acquaintances. The three individuals (Arthur Schupbach, Todd Gardella and Eddie Stankewick) are veterans of several New York based bands: Melted Americans, Grumwald, Sandoz Thieves, Baby Sage and Split.
Washroom Recordings was "born" three years ago when these three friends started recording at Morgan's home in Oyster Bay, NY. Due to a lack of space and a sleeping baby upstairs, the sessions were limited to a small shed adjacent to the house which was cluttered with a washer, dryer, clothes and assorted junk. During those sweltering August nights, the trio wrote and recorded Proud which laid the groundwork for the label.
Washroom Recordings was conceived as an outlet for artists to make their music available for anyone who may want to hear it without delaing with the manipulation of a major label. There are no artistic restrictions of limitations. Any type of music is considered.
PeaceWork extends a warm welcome to this label and applauds their mission, which so closely resembles our own. If enough like-minded labels get together, wecangive the big boys a run for their money without compromising the integrity of our art!
