Why the Music Net?

• We offer a non-exclusive contract.
  Individual Artists are free to pursue other avenues of distribution without any interference from us. You do need to keep in mind that once you sign with us, you may need to disclose the terms of our contract with any other company that you distribute your music through, but there's no need to disclose these companies or any contracts you've signed with them to us. We take your word that you have the legal right to sign our contract. Labels have a similar contract in that it is non-exclusive, leaving the label free to persue other avenues of distribution concurrently with our distribution.



• We do not compress the music on our compilation cds or album copies.
  Unlike the "other guys," we don't accept mp3 submissions and we don't archive then later expand mp3 files to burn the cds we sell. If we sell an entire album, it will be an exact copy of the cd sent to us for our archives. If we sell an individual track, or include an individual track on a compilation, it will also be an exact copy of the song on the cd submitted to us. We do use Real Audio for the music samples on the website, but these samples are not used for any other purpose. It is in our best interest and yours that the quality of recording the customer receives is identical to what the customer could find in a music store or department store.



• We do not use "in-house" generic artwork.
  If artwork is supplied to us as jpg files in exact dimensions on cdr, every cd corresponding to the artwork that is sold will be packaged using that artwork, with our PeaceWork Music logo (appx 3/4" x 1/2") in a non-obtrusive area on the back of the sleeve. If artwork is not supplied to us, we will scan the artwork from the archive cd and use that in the above manner. If the artist has no artwork, we will design a sleeve and cd label and the you will have the option of paying us in full or the fee may be paid by our retention of earnings until the fee is met. If we design your artwork, in addition to the above-mentioned logo's, a credit and contact line for PeaceWork Graphics will be placed with our logo and distribution notice on the back of the sleeve. We package our cds in a 4.88" x 4.88" glossy cardboard sleeve and, if desired, include a 3.75" x 3.75" insert for a minimal cost.



• There are no hidden fees.
  Except in the event that we need to make an archive cd or create artwork, the only expense for standard distribution will be your cost for the cd submitted and the required postage to send it to us. We pay all promotional costs, shipping and handling costs, manufactutring costs etc.



• You will make more money per cd.
  We pay the artist 50% of the selling price. If you do not supply us with a retail price, we will price your music at $1.00 per song. If your cd is selected for the Weekly Spotlight, it may be available for one week at a $2.00 discount. We absorb this discount entirely and you will receive the same amount as you would from a normal sale.



• We do all the work.
  You never have to log in and create a web page. All you have to do is send us a signed contract and a cd for our archives or payment for the creation of a cd for our archives and/or payment for the graphics work if you don't have artwork. We provide short reviews in most cases, but if you wish to supply your own promotional text (no more than 100 words), you may do so at no charge. If you wish us to customize your album page with extra photos or more than 100 words of text, email us with your needs for a quote.



• We are truly global.
  We have duplication services in the US which ships to all countries outside of Eastern Europe and China. We also have distributors in Eastern Europe and China which cover those needs. We are the ONLY distributor, on or off line, that can make this boast at the present time and we will always be able to honestly say we were the first.



• Our website is top quality.
  Don't underestimate the value of a "pretty" website. Our pages are clean and attractive and the text is legible. We don't weigh down the top and edges with advertisements and a lot of blinking distractions. The navigation is intuitive and all our links work. This assures a pleasant visit and a pleasant visit assures return visits. Our webmaster is a leader in the internet award community and has put the knowledge gained in over four years of service into this website. Your music will be well represented in a professional, aesthetic and easily-understood manner.



• Our agreement includes world-wide digital distribution.
  We are partnered with AMAdea Records to give you digital distribution through nearly 100 mp3 download websites located in nearly every country, including iTunes and their various regional services. Like our on-demand agreement, you get one half of the retail price of the downloads without doing anything, we do it all for you.



• We're musicians ourselves.
  There are no "suits" here. We're all tried-and-true dedicated musicians and are intimately familiar with the ins and outs of getting your music to the public. We care about the artists and what they are trying to say. We don't have a group of investors to molly-coddle and that gives us the freedom to follow our conscience and do what is right; not what pays the most.
• You now have a choice for distribution.
  In addition to our on-demand distribution, we now offer you the choice to send us cds to sell. We will warehouse your stock and sell it as orders are made. We keep $3.00 per sale and you get the rest.

It's easy to get started, just fill out the contract and schedule (these are fill-in pdf forms (thanks to Andreas Wagner for the fill-in versions of the forms), send two signed copies of the contract, we will counter-sign and return one copy. Also send one signed schedule for each cd with your music. If you are sending more than one cd, we still only need two total copies of the contract.

If you do not have an audio cd, but have sound files in either mp3 or wav format, you may submit them on either cdr or cdrw at the above address. Please do not send floppy disks.

We will also accept submissions sent on audio cassette tape. However, we need a cd for archival purposes and music submitted on cassette tape must be accompanied by a check or money order in the amount of $1.00 per track. If you wish a copy of this archive cd, enclose an extra $2.00 and one will be mailed to you.
