In 1998, Charlie Harrelson formed a very small musicians cooperative organization called EvO:R (Elite Veterans Of Rock) by approaching musicians that had similar ideas and asking them to join the group. He felt that every new musician could bring additional knowledge and a service to the new organization and knew that eventually EvO:R could use its numbers to create discounts for services that starving musicians pay through the nose for; things like CD duplication, compilation participation, indie radio broadcasting, and more.

After a few months EvO:R grew to over 100 members, but only about 15 people actively participating in the process to help achieve the EvO:R vision. A modest website was launched to explain what was planned. As the numbers swelled and Charlie began asking for help, he noticed that 90% of the artists made great cheer leaders and lousy helpers. He continued doing most of the work himself, relying on a handful of members for much needed assistance. With the help of those few tireless members, the website was built from the ground up, learning the intricacies of web design as they went.

This modest website has grown to well over 350,000 visitors monthly with pages viewed reaching over 1,466,000 per month and represents some of the finest indie musicians you will ever be likely to hear.
